Overview
Reed Construction was selected as the general contractor to renovate the north campus building of Homewood-Flossmoor High School. The project is multi-phased, including the renovation of a residential kitchen, commercial kitchen & flex classroom.
Residential Kitchen Work Completed
- New equipment installation including dishwasher, gas cooktops, exhaust hood, under-counter microwave, double stack oven, and double washer and dryers
- New “Fireframes® Designer Series” fire-rated steel frame system with Pilkington Pyrostop® fire-rated glazing
- Altro Stronghold 30 safety sheet flooring
- Upgraded A/V & technology system highlighted by 5000-lumen ultra-short throw projectors and a QSC loudspeaker system
- New furnishings including quartz countertops, wood-veneer architectural cabinetry, teacher’s station, and kitchen islands
Commercial Kitchen Work Completed
- New “Fireframes® Designer Series” fire-rated steel frame system with Pilkington Pyrostop® fire-rated glazing
- New furnishings including quartz countertops, walk-in cooler, porcelain-enamel markerboards
- Installed components such as semi-recessed fire extinguisher cabinets, decorative ground face concrete masonry units, and a satin anodized horizontal sliding window
- Altro Walkway 20 safety sheet flooring
- Several custom installations including operable lockable transaction window integrated into borrowed lite, and new duct penetration, roof curb, and associated roof penetrations
