His professional portfolio includes successful management of substantial multi-million dollar projects within the healthcare sector, notably at Rush University Medical Center, Loyola University Medical Center, U of Chicago, Riverside Health, and Northshore University Health System.
Biggest Win:
Scott’s most notable accomplishment entailed overseeing the successful completion of a six-story hospital addition at Silver Cross Hospital. This endeavor represented a significant milestone for Reed Construction as it encompassed the incorporation of cardiovascular operating rooms, Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) space. Furthermore, it established Reed Construction’s first vertical integration project. The project posed a considerable challenge due to its complexity and necessitated a substantial planning staff. Of particular note is the requirement for the hospital to maintain operational status throughout the construction period. Notably, the final two stories were added late into the schedule. Valued at over $30 million, the expansion spanned an estimated 80,000 square feet and catalyzed the inception of Silver Cross’ Heart Program.

Scott Pickands had been a member of the board for the Ingalls Development Foundation for seven years. He currently actively participates in the Healthcare Engineers Society of Northern Illinois and extends his support to various hospital foundations through the Reed Construction Foundation and volunteering activities.
