Reed Construction Selected for Lake Behavioral Hospital Expansion

We are pleased to announce that the firm was selected to complete a 90,000 square foot, four-story addition for Lake Behavioral Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois.

Reed was selected by US HealthVest and Lake Behavioral Hospital to complete this project, which will include increasing the hospital’s capacity from 46 to 146 in-patient beds by repurposing an existing medical office building (“MOB”). The existing structure of the MOB will be salvaged and tied into a new cast in place building to create the new expansion which will include outpatient treatment space, a full kitchen and recreation areas, as well as new parking. The hospital plans to expand the services it currently offers including increasing substance abuse treatment options; hosting programs for seniors, adolescents, women and veterans; and adding detox and dual-diagnosis programs.

Project Executive and Team Leader Joe Kozlowski will lead this project joined by Assistant Project Manager James Kapp and Senior Superintendent Chuck Knapp. Architectural services for this project are provided by Legat Architects, Inc.  Construction is slated for completion in spring/summer 2020.
